Technical Progress Update
In December 2005 the DNF Expert Group reviewed and agreed a formal Reference Model that describes the scope of DNF components such as identifiers, feature catalogues, coordinate systems etc.
Since then the Technical Working Group has agreed a documentation map and work was started on several Technical Guidelines. These include Identifier Management, Cross-Referencing, with Area Referencing and Linear Referencing examples. It is intended that these will be reviewed and published on the Architecture pages of the website by the time of the next Expert Group in May.
A short summary of the outcomes from the Identifier Consultation will be published by the end of March, also on the Architecture pages.
